Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences is seeking a Data Management Manager, Endocrinology, to lead data strategy, governance, quality and operations for the Endocrinology franchise. This role focuses on integrating VYKAT XR into the commercial data ecosystem and supporting broader data initiatives across Commercial Analytics.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data reliability, scalability and compliance with HIPAA while guiding junior staff and coordinating with external data vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 6+ years in pharma Commercial Operations or Data Management.
  • Expert knowledge of commercial data management best practices and governance.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex data concepts to business audiences.
  • Experience with multiple data sources and analytics tooling in a regulated environment.

About the Role: The Data Management Manager, Endocrinology will serve as a key member of the Commercial Data Management team, with primary responsibility for supporting the Endocrinology franchise and its commercial data needs. Reporting to the Associate Director, Data Management focused on our endocrinology franchise, this role will independently lead projects and initiatives spanning data strategy, governance, quality, and operations. A significant near‑term focus will be the continued integration of VYKAT XR into Neurocrine’s commercial data management ecosystem, ensuring the data capabilities needed to support the brand are reliable, scalable, and aligned with broader commercial and enterprise data practices. This role will also support CRENESSITY and other endocrinology data initiatives, serving as a trusted data management resource and partnering across Commercial Analytics and Operations and other functions to solve complex data challenges and enable high‑quality business insights.

Your Contributions
  • Lead multiple data management projects and initiatives supporting the Endocrinology franchise, applying strong analytical judgment to identify solutions to complex data and business challenges with limited supervision
  • Provide data management leadership for the continued integration of VYKAT XR into the commercial data ecosystem, including data strategy, governance, operations, quality, and ongoing enhancements, while also supporting the data needs of CRENESSITY
  • Manage small- to medium-scale data contracts, including contract renewals, and partner with senior Data Management colleagues as appropriate to qualify new data vendors, evaluate data offerings, and support data acquisition and negotiations
  • Manage relationships with assigned data vendors and oversee associated service-level agreements (SLAs), deliverables, and performance.
  • Evaluate vendors and data sources and identify actions required to meet established data quality and business standards
  • Actively monitor data quality and lead the resolution of complex data issues and disruptions in partnership with the Data Quality team, data vendors, and other internal stakeholders
  • Perform impact assessments for data events, changes, and disruptions across commercial processes and systems, and engage appropriate business owners to recommend solutions and drive alignment on action plans
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics and Operations to develop and continuously improve robust data quality-control processes and reporting that proactively identify potential anomalies before data is published for reporting, analytics, or downstream consumption
  • Collaborate on data validation and coordination activities supporting field-based and internal reports, analytics, systems, and business processes
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and effectively communicate complex data concepts, issues, and recommendations to both technical and business audiences, building confidence in the accuracy and quality of commercial data
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Identify gaps in existing data management processes and recommend practical and scalable solutions
  • Ensure critical data management processes, business rules, and operating procedures are clearly documented to promote consistency, continuity, and operational stability.
  • Develop guidelines and provide directions that enable less experienced Data Management colleagues to perform work independently
  • Identify opportunities to improve data management tools, processes, controls, and ways of working, and help implement solutions that increase the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Commercial Data Management function
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech Commercial Operations, Commercial Data Management, or related fields; or Master’s degree preferred and 4+ years of similar experience noted above
  • Expert knowledge of data management best practices with focus on commercial data management (3+ years)
  • Strong understanding of the commercial biopharma data ecosystem, including data flows, governance, and operational processes
  • High degree of comfort working with data across a variety of tools, platforms, and programming languages, such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, SQL, and Python
  • Familiarity with commercial data sources such as IQVIA and specialty pharmacy and distributor data (e.g., 852/867); experience with digital marketing data sources is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with patient claims data sources such as Komodo, MMIT/Norstella, and Veeva Compass is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment with competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and data-driven insights into clear business language for diverse audiences
  • Proven experience handling patient-level data and strong familiarity with HIPAA and related regulatory requirements
  • Successful track record managing small to medium cross-functional technology and data initiatives with strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a strong attention to detail and a process-driven mindset

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $132,700.00-$182,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
