Neurocrine Biosciences in San Diego seeks a seasoned Brand Manager to drive strategic direction and execution of brand plans across neuroscience products. Qualifications

  • BS/BA in marketing or life sciences with 8+ years in pharma marketing or advertising.
  • MBA preferred OR PharmD/PhD with 4+ years of similar experience.
  • Proven ability to lead large brand campaigns and manage agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of brand agencies and partners; ensure strategic alignment across stakeholders.
  • Develop clear, compelling HCP marketing content translating complex data for multi-channel use.
  • Contributes to strategic development and execution of brand initiatives.
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns to drive brand awareness and adoption; include print and digital assets.
  • Coordinate with digital marketing to align non-personal promotions with strategy.
  • Lead market research initiatives with agencies and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales Training to enable effective product training for reps.
  • Serve as primary contact for field-based inquiries on products.
  • Ensure messaging consistency with Payor & Access teams.

About the Role

Contributes to the strategic direction and execution of brand strategies for the company and identifies new opportunities for assigned products, product lines, lines of business, or on a company-wide campaign basis. Responsible for one or more of the following areas brand-level development including market analysis, strategic planning, brand management. Manages marketing materials to establish product branding and messaging. Develops and implements product education and other promotional activities to communicate product positioning and lifecycle development of products to customers. Applies consumer insight and market research to determine innovative marketing and product opportunities. Works in partnership with cross-functional teams in linking the brand to efforts by marketing, product marketing, marketing communications or other departments or units within the organization.

Your Contributions
  • Manage day-to-day activities of brand agencies and other business partners for related projects and initiatives and coordinate with the commercial team to ensure strategic alignment across all stakeholder groups for brand-related promotional activities
  • Develop clear, compelling HCP marketing content that translates complex scientific data; ensure consistency and compliance across channels
  • Contributes to the strategic development and execution of the brand initiatives
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns and tactics to drive increased brand awareness and adoption, including, but not limited to, print and digital rep materials
  • Coordinates with digital marketing team to gain alignment of non-personal promotional and other digital assets
  • May lead market research initiatives in partnership with agencies/vendors and internal research team
  • Coordinates with Sales Training to facilitate effective product training and enhance sales representatives’ ability to appropriately communicate and position programs and services
  • Serves as primary contact for interactions with field-based reps about product related inquiries
  • Coordinates with Payor & Access team to ensure strategic alignment and messaging consistency for promotional materials used by field sales and channel partners
  • Works closely with the field sales organization and sales management to develop innovative marketing programs and supports POA planning
  • Utilizes customer and marketplace insights to identify, develop, and execute business initiatives that advance the brand and analyzes and interprets market research and sales data to inform strategic brand direction
  • Ensures budget aligns with planned annual spend
  • Participate in annual brand planning activities, including forecasts and budgeting
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights to inform strategy, guide decision-making, and identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient teams, Field) to ensure alignment and flawless execution
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in marketing or life sciences AND 8+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical product marketing, sales or pharmaceutical advertising agency.
  • Experience in managing advertising Agency of Record activities.
  • Experience in CNS and/or psychiatry is a plus.
  • OR MBA preferred AND 6+ years of similar experience noted above OR PharmD or PhD AND 4+ years of similar experience noted above
  • Ability to work independently and take a lead role on assigned projects
  • Some experience working on large scale DTC campaigns is a plus
  • Aptitude for building positive working relationships
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and vendors, including creative AoR as well as Medica Agency
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Anticipates business and industry issues; recommends relevant process / technical / service improvements
  • Demonstrates broad expertise or unique knowledge
  • Considered an expert within the company and may have an external presence in the area of expertise
  • Applies in-depth expertise in the discipline and broad knowledge of other closely related areas to improve the efficiency of the team
  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $158,100.00-$216,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
