Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer 2 focused on Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions. You will design and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms to support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.

Collaborate with data consumers and engineers to build scalable pipelines (batch and streaming), optimize data models, and migrate on-prem workloads to cloud-native services across AWS, Azure, or GCP. Regularly contribute to DevOps practices and data governance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting Data Warehouses, Lakes and Lakehouse.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Experience with Python data processing/orchestration for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience migrating legacy ETL to modern data engineering frameworks.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end ETL/data integration architectures.
• Experience with Spark, Databricks, Airflow or similar tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Lakehouse solutions.
• Build scalable data models and architectures for reporting and analytics.
• Develop and modernize batch, streaming, and near real-time ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Migrate legacy workloads to cloud-native data platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-performance data solutions.
• Enable BI, analytics, and AI initiatives via trusted datasets.
