Qualifications

• 5+ years of data journalism experience.
• Proficiency with Python and/or R, spreadsheets and relational databases.
• Leadership, editing or mentorship experience (2+ years).
• Experience leading a data journalism team and collaborating across desks.

Responsibilities

• Help lead the Data Journalism team and supervise several data reporters.
• Shape and stress-test the team's data analyses.
• Advise on analyses conducted elsewhere in the newsroom.
• Consult on data analyses by reporters outside the team.
• Navigate partnerships with crisp communication and diplomacy.
• Support the newsroom's value of journalistic independence and mission.
