Sharetec is looking for a Data Integration Engineer to join our team!

As a key member of our Professional Services team, the Data Integration Engineer will play a critical role in onboarding new credit union clients by transforming and integrating their data into the Sharetec platform. This role combines hands-on data conversion work using Progress 4GL with a forward-looking focus on automation and process improvement. You’ll help ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient data migrations while also contributing to the evolution of our tools and methodologies.

This is a full-time, exempt position that can be based remotely or structured as a hybrid role for candidates in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Remote candidates must reside in one of the approved states listed below. The role may require occasional company-paid travel. The starting salary range is $90,000–$110,000.

Essential duties and responsibilities will include:

Data Conversion & Integration

• Analyze and transform incoming credit union data files into formats compatible with Sharetec’s Progress-based platform.
• Develop and maintain Progress 4GL code to support data loading, validation, and application logic.
• Execute data loads and ensure data integrity across Progress database, application, and transaction servers.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual conversion processes.
• Develop scripts and tools (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript) to improve repeatability and reduce errors.
• Contribute to the design of a scalable, standardized conversion framework.

Support & Collaboration

• Assist with post-conversion support and troubleshooting.
• Support custom add-on development and deployment for client-specific needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to share knowledge and improve cross-functional workflows.

Qualified candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in data integration, ETL, or software development.
• Experience with Progress 4GL or similar programming languages (or willingness to learn).
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with financial data or in a credit union/banking environment is a plus.
