Job summary

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Birth Defects Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch is seeking a temporary Developer/Programmer Analyst III to support eCR ingestion, data interoperability, and TBIRDS modernization. You will develop automated data workflows and dashboards to accelerate case processing and improve data quality.

Qualifications

Experience supporting interoperability initiatives and data exchange workflows.
Ability to design and build dashboards to visualize key TBIRDS metrics.
Proficiency with SAS programming for data processing and automation.
Proficiency with Python and/or R for data manipulation and automation tasks.
Experience validating data integration processes and ensuring data quality.

Responsibilities

Conduct interoperability needs assessments and document system requirements.
Develop, test, and maintain SAS, Python, and R programs for data workflows and dashboards.
Validate automated workflows for accuracy, completeness and reliability; troubleshoot as needed.
Support modernization efforts by integrating electronic health data into TBIRDS workflows.
Collaborate with team to document processes and propose future interoperability solutions.
