Job summary

Valmont Industries is offering an analytics internship designed to turn complex data into practical insights that support decision making across Product Management, Engineering, and Operations.

You will build reports and visualizations in Databricks, Power BI, and Excel while ensuring data quality, governance, and automation initiatives. Ideal candidates are curious, analytical, and collaborative with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of data analysis concepts and working with structured datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, filters, pivot tables).
• Basic knowledge of SQL or other data querying methods.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and interpret data for Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and other business teams.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Databricks, Power BI, Excel, and related tools.
• Analyze product lifecycles, engineering changes, product governance, and portfolio data.
• Validate data, perform cleansing, and improve data quality and reliability.
• Translate business questions into clear analyses, metrics, and repeatable reporting solutions.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve data access.
• Document data definitions, processes, and reporting standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate findings and support cross-functional projects.
