Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Data Analyst to support law enforcement investigations by analyzing diverse data sets, ensuring accuracy, and delivering actionable insights under pressure. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in SQL and Python, 5+ years with Excel/Power BI, a SECRET clearance, and the ability to work on-site in El Paso, TX with daily collaboration across teams.

This role is part of our Data Exploitation Practice.

Qualifications

• Ability to hold a SECRET clearance with the US government.
• 4 years of Military or law enforcement background or exposure.
• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of work experience OR 9 years of work experience and no degree.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL and Python.
• 5+ years using data analytic/visualization tools (Excel/Power BI or similar).
• 2+ years unstructured data manipulation from multiple platforms; IT, stats or related fields.
• Local to El Paso, TX or willing to drive on site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Trend Recognition across diverse datasets.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and relevancy for investigations.
• Collaborate with teams to support criminal and civil investigations.
• Develop work products with periodic progress reviews and reporting.
• Data entry into large-scale processing systems using OCR, scanners, etc.
• Provide critical law enforcement support under tight timelines.
• Leverage Excel/Power BI to create charts, formulas, and pivot tables.
