Job summary

Pearson in Colorado is seeking a motivated software engineer to join the Data Ingestion Automation team. You will help ingest data for Pearson’s online learning products, enabling faster data capture and better learner experiences using AWS and GCP hyperscalers.

You will participate in design meetings, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and work in an Agile environment to deliver scalable data processing with Big Data tools such as Kinesis and BigQuery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS / MIS or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of software engineering and design.
• Experience with Java and Python; REST-based services; Maven; unit testing; AWS and/or GCP; Git; Linux.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements new, unit tested software.
• Maintains and enhances existing software.
• Participates in customer, requirements, architecture, and design meetings.
• Collaborates to solve problems and push projects forward.
• Uses AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and data engineering.
