Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure & Acquisition in Newark, NJ. You will build and optimize data ingestion pipelines and cloud infrastructure to support large-scale model training and data collection on our fast-growing AI team.

The role requires 5+ years of software development, proficiency with Bash/Python on Linux, and experience with Docker, Terraform, and GCP. You’ll collaborate with scientists and leadership to shape dataset roadmaps and cost- efficient scaling.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry software development experience.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and at least one major cloud provider (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality and data scale.
• Contribute to the AI Team dataset roadmap to power next-generation products.
