Job summary

Speechify, a distributed company with no offices, is seeking a Software Engineer to own data collection and ingestion infrastructure for model training. You will build high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry software development experience.
• Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting in Linux.
• Docker experience and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to shift priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ingest data from new audio sources into the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion on GCP with Terraform.
• Collaborate with scientists to improve data cost, throughput, and quality.
• Help define the dataset roadmap for next-generation models.
• Collaborate with AI team and leadership across products.
