Job summary

Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) in Washington, DC seeks an Information Technology Specialist as a data governance analyst to create and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and processes for District agencies.

The role includes solving governance challenges, analyzing workflows, and advising on strategic solutions for data management, security, privacy, and lifecycle across city services.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience at CS-13 level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of governance concepts: data management, storage, record linkage and analysis.
• Experience creating KPIs and metrics for data initiatives and governance.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups to implement data standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements data governance initiatives to improve data quality across DC Government.
• Analyzes and improves data governance processes and systems for compliance.
• Monitors DC Data Policy and AI/ML related policies for governance adherence.
• Collaborates with agencies on projects to implement governance workflows and feedback.
• Documents data governance metrics and provides analytic outputs.
• Gathers requirements and supports data sharing agreements between district agencies.
• Guides training to ensure users understand data governance processes.
• Assists in organizing committees and working groups on data governance.
