Job summary

TZ Consulting is hiring for a Director of Data Governance and Data Quality in Chandler, AZ. The role leading the client’s governance operating model will have direct authority over certification standards, escalation paths, and how data trust is enforced across multiple systems.

It is a builder’s mandate, not a maintenance position. You will build the Data Trust Council, own the metric registry and certification framework, and design the data quality incident process with root-cause

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data governance, data quality, or data strategy leadership in multi-system environments.
• Strong technical fluency with Snowflake, dbt, and modern BI tools such as Tableau.
• Experience designing certification standards, owner/steward models, and source-change control.
• Executive-level diplomacy translating data lineage and quality constraints for non-technical leaders.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the Data Trust Council with real decision rights for critical data domains.
• Own the metric registry and certification framework end-to-end with clear data ownership and lineage.
• Design data quality incident process including root-cause classification and remediation routing.
• Create and enforce Data Impact Reviews for source-system changes touching certified data and reports.
