Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC seeks a Data Steward Lead to ensure critical business data is well-defined and governed across the enterprise. You will align business and DG standards, manage metadata, and drive data quality initiatives to enable trusted data usage.

The role collaborates with DG, engineering, and business teams to implement data governance policies and ensure regulatory compliance, with a hybrid work model supporting collaboration.

Qualifications

• Education or experiencetypicallyobtained through completion of a bachelor's degree.
• 8+ years of experience in data management, business analysis, or related field within financial services or a regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and compliance.
• Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and data privacy/security standards.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts in business-friendly language.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance enterprise metadata in the data catalog (glossary, data dictionaries, lineage).
• Define and document business terms and data definitions with Data Owners and SMEs.
• Collaborate with Data Governance to align technical metadata and lineage.
• Identify and validate data sources, ownership, and usage context to support governance objectives.
• Develop and maintain business rules for data quality (completeness, accuracy, timeliness).
• Partner with DG and Engineering to implement automated data quality monitoring and reporting.
• Analyze data quality metrics and escalate issues as needed.
• Contribute to remediation prioritization and root-cause analysis for data quality issues.
• Participate in Data Domain Councils to refine standards and drive governance improvements.
• Serve as liaison between business and DG team for assigned data domains.
• Support rollout of new governance standards, policies, and tools.
• Contribute to pilot projects that quantify data quality improvements.
