Job summary

Dow is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise data governance, enhance data quality, and maintain metadata and data catalog content. You will work with business and technical teams to improve usability of data assets and ensure governance standards are applied consistently.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, collaboration with data stewards, and documentation of data ownership and lineage across domains, in a fast-paced Dow environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience or 5 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of governance concepts, metadata, and data quality management.

Responsibilities

• Execute established data governance processes, policies, standards, and controls.
• Support enterprise governance initiatives through governance activities and deliverables.
• Create, maintain, and update business metadata, technical metadata, business glossary entries, and data catalog content.
• Document business definitions, data ownership information, stewardship assignments, and data lineage.
• Maintain governance repositories, standards documentation, and supporting materials.
• Perform data quality assessments and validation activities.
• Monitor data quality metrics, analyze results, and identify data issues.
• Support root-cause analysis and remediation efforts for data quality challenges.
• Execute testing and validation activities related to governed data assets.
• Partner with Data Governance Managers and subject matter experts to capture business knowledge and requirements.
• Prepare governance documentation and recommendations for review and approval.
• Populate and maintain enterprise data catalogs and governance platforms.
• Support data classification, critical data element identification, and ownership alignment activities.
