Job summary

TEKsystems in Glendale, CA is seeking a Governance Engineer to own the hands-on administration and day-to-day operation of the platform's data governance and security tooling. You will work with Snowflake Horizon, Immuta, Alation, and related tools within an agile data services team to implement policies, conduct validations, and maintain catalog descriptions.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, collaboration with platform engineering and SRE, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.

Qualifications

• Experience administering governance tooling like Snowflake Horizon and native Snowflake security features.
• Experience translating governance/security requirements into technical controls in Immuta.
• Experience with data catalog or metadata tooling such as Alation, Collibra, or Purview.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD (Terraform or equivalent).
• Experience with identity and access management tooling such as SailPoint or Okta.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure Snowflake Horizon and native Snowflake security and governance features.
• Implement and maintain access governance policies in Immuta.
• Configure, tune, and monitor data quality checks and alerts across governed datasets.
• Maintain and enrich the data catalog so datasets are discoverable, described, and classified.
• Automate and codify governance configuration where possible, so controls are repeatable and auditable.
