Job summary

Nelnet Business Services (NBS) seeks a Business Systems Analyst — Data Governance & Operational Systems to connect business needs with data integrity across the CRM landscape. You will own requirements, drive discovery workshops, write testable stories, and shape governance rules for reliable production data.

You will serve as data steward for assigned domains, maintain the data dictionary, validate readiness before go-live, and collaborate with data migration and CRM teams to ensure compliant,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on data governance experience with defined metrics and ownership.
• Experience writing clear, testable requirements for developers and testers.
• CRM platform experience (Salesforce, Dynamics 365, or equivalent) for current projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops with business stakeholders to map processes and future-state requirements.
• Author user stories and acceptance criteria for developers and QA, accounting for data quality issues.
• Document end-to-end workflows and data flows, signaling downstream impacts of changes.
• Define and enforce data standards, field naming, and domain ownership policies.
• Identify regulatory data obligations and ensure governance requirements are reflected in the model.
• Own the data dictionary for assigned domains, including definitions and lineage.
• Validate data readiness before go-live with profiling and quality checks; collaborate on cutover.
• Participate in Data Governance Council and cross-functional groups for data standards.
• Serve as the business systems analyst for CRM platforms, coordinating UAT with admins and owners.
