Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Analysis - Data Management to lead the Managing Data Steward team within Retail Banking. The role focuses on governance of data assets, data management strategy, and driving innovative data products to uncover business improvements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analytics, data governance, and leading data teams in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in quantitative field plus 7 years of data analytics experience, or a Master’s with 5+ years.
• At least 5 years of professional data analysis work.
• At least 5 years leading and developing with open source data technologies.
• At least 2 years of experience managing people.

Responsibilities

• Drive data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs.
• Create data products that uncover opportunities for improvement.
• Lead governance of data assets with a governance plan and structure.
• Develop and execute on data management strategy.
• Define and monitor KRIs and accelerate non-compliance remediation.
• Oversee data quality monitoring and data issue management.
• Monitor health of data catalog metadata.
• Manage a team of high performing data professionals.
• Report on data analysis activities with new reporting and visualization techniques.
• Partner with engineering and enterprise functions to adopt data flow standards.
• Lead migration from on-prem to AWS cloud-based implementation.
• Define incremental roadmaps to support business goals.
