Job summary

Alignment Health is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to strengthen governance across data quality, metadata, and lifecycle management for Medicare Advantage operations. You will partner with governance leaders, stewards, and tech teams to drive reliable data assets and compliant reporting.

You will investigate data quality issues, maintain the data glossary and lineage, and help ensure audit-ready documentation while supporting validation across data pipelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience 3–8 years in data analysis, data governance, data quality management, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with both business and technical stakeholders on data-related challenges.
• Working knowledge of data quality, metadata, and documentation practices in an enterprise environment.
• Healthcare industry experience, particularly in payer, managed care, or Medicare Advantage.
• Familiarity with CMS data requirements, HIPAA, or healthcare claims data structures.
• Training in SQL for data querying, validation, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Investigate data inconsistencies and perform root cause analysis across enterprise systems and pipelines.
• Define, implement, monitor, and report on data quality rules and thresholds; track quality metrics.
• Maintain governance glossary, metadata catalog, and lineage documentation across assets.
• Track governance issues and decisions through full lifecycle; produce status reports and dashboards.
• Assist in validating data across integration and transformation processes; collaborate with data engineering teams.
• Support HIPAA compliance, CMS reporting standards, and audit/documentation activities.
