Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract Data Governance professional to support governance practices, data definitions, and metadata documentation from Indianapolis, IN. The role emphasizes data quality, lineage, and collaboration with data owners and technology teams in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities include defining governance rules, enabling data literacy, and maintaining audit trails across critical datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support establishment and execution of data governance practices, including data ownership/stewardship, policies, standards, and control frameworks.
• Develop and maintain business definitions, data glossaries, and metadata documentation to promote consistent interpretation and use of key data.
• Assist with data quality management: define rules/thresholds, monitor exceptions, coordinate remediation, and track issue resolution.
• Document data lineage and critical data flows across systems to improve transparency, impact analysis, and regulatory/audit readiness.
• Partner with SMEs, data owners, and technology teams to classify data (sensitivity, retention), manage access, and support compliance requirements.
• Help define and operationalize governance for critical data elements (CDEs) and key reporting/operational datasets used by the business.
• Support governance ceremonies (reviews, approvals, certifications) and maintain governance artifacts and audit trails.
• Enable data literacy through guidance, templates, and knowledge transfer on definitions, quality expectations, and proper data usage.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
