Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer II in Data Engineering to extend AWS-native data ingestion, ETL, and storage solutions powering data analytics, simulation, and ML training across the enterprise.

You will work with a distributed, remote-first team, contributing to the design and delivery of cloud-based data pipelines, lake expansion, and governance while collaborating with cross-functional groups and supporting production systems during business hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, EE or related field with 4+ years (or 0-3+ with Master) experience.
• Experience deploying, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining Linux systems.
• Experience building workloads in public cloud environments.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, vector stores, data warehousing and distributed data stores.
• Bash scripting and Docker/containerization experience.
• Experience with workflow patterns using DAGs (Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
• Strong emphasis on test-driven development, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Linux-based data ingestion, ETL, and storage solutions in AWS.
• Build robust pipelines for massive daily data from vehicles and simulations.
• Support scalable data lake expansion and data discovery.
• Ensure data integrity, provenance, and governance across data sources.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, control, mapping and testing teams for product delivery.
• Contribute to cloud-based architecture and on-call support for deployed systems.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
