Job summary

Publicis Sapient seeks a Manager-Level Data Architect in Arlington, VA to lead a team of data engineers and evolve the enterprise data platform. You will combine SQL Server DBA expertise with modern data engineering practices while migrating from self-managed IaaS to fully managed PaaS solutions.

You will partner with PMs to plan, execute data initiatives, ensure security and governance, and drive CI/CD for database deployments. Strong leadership and cloud migration experience are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture, DBA, or data engineering roles.
• Hands-on SQL Server DBA with performance tuning, HA/DR, and operati onal support.
• Experience leading small engineering teams.
• Experience migrating databases to cloud-managed services (PaaS).
• Knowledge of DataOps, observability, and data quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–5 data engineers across platform and integration tracks.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute data initiatives with PMs.
• Drive delivery, governance, security, and reliability across data platforms.
• Oversee data platform setup, config, and maintenance (cloud-native DBs).
• Lead migrations from SQL Server IaaS to PaaS/cloud-managed services.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines (SSIS, Glue, Python) and CI/CD for databases.
