Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Data Engineering Manager to lead the GDSP 3PX Analytics & Insights data engineering function. You will own data infrastructure, pipelines and platform capabilities powering dashboards, AI tools and Private Pricing applications across AWS.

You will coach senior engineers, drive architecture and partner with product managers, data scientists and software engineers. You will balance priorities, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure scalable data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• 5+ years processing data with massively parallel tech (Redshift, Teradata, Spark, Hadoop).
• 5+ years relational DB experience (Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL).
• 2+ years building large-scale BI analytics structures (ETL/ELT).
• Experience hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent.
• Experience communicating to senior management and customers.
• Experience leading and influencing data/BI strategy.
• One modern scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, NodeJS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of senior data engineers, hiring, mentoring, setting direction and managing growth.
• Own data platform strategy and roadmap for the portfolio including Redshift clusters and data models.
• Manage and optimize Redshift infrastructure for performance, cost, availability, and scalability.
• Own data pipelines for AI-powered tools powering GenAI and ML apps.
• Drive data engineering for dashboards and internal software products.
• Establish data governance, quality, reliability standards with monitoring and SLAs.
• Partner with product managers, BI engineers, and software engineers to translate requirements.
• Represent data engineering in planning forums, communicating trade-offs to leadership.
• Drive operational excellence, on-call processes, and continuous improvement.
