Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our centralized analytics team. You will design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines that connect telemetry, usage metrics, and business outcomes into a unified data ecosystem.

This greenfield role focuses on engineering robust data infrastructure and data models, while BI engineers own reporting and dashboards. You will influence executive analytics and empower self-service data access across thousands of field users.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and ETL pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting language (Python/Java/Scala/NodeJS).
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own end-to-end data platform strategy using AWS-native technologies (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda, Athena, MWAA, EMR, Data Zone).
• Define and drive the next generation data architecture aligning data infra with business priorities.
• Design and implement a centralized data platform and data models linking product usage to outcomes.
• Lead development of data infrastructure for AI/ML pipelines and agentic systems (MCP tools).
• Establish data governance including contracts, lineage, quality, and security controls.
