Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow the Data Engineering function within the Global Deal Strategy and Programs team. You will own data infrastructure, pipelines, and platform capabilities powering dashboards, analytics, and AI-powered tools for Private Pricing applications and deal management across AWS.

You will lead a team of senior data engineers, collaborate with product managers, BI engineers, and software engineers to deliver scalable data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of processing data with massively parallel tech (e.g., Redshift, Spark, Hadoop).
• 5+ years relational database tech (Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL).
• 2+ years developing large-scale BI data structures (ETL/ELT).
• 5+ years data engineering experience.
• Experience hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent.
• Experience communicating to senior management and customers.
• Experience leading and influencing the data/BI strategy.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of senior data engineers, hiring and mentoring.
• Own data platform strategy and roadmap for multiple Redshift clusters.
• Manage and optimize Redshift infrastructure for performance and cost.
• Own data pipelines for AI-powered tools and GenAI/ML applications.
• Drive data engineering for dashboards and internal software products.
• Establish data governance, quality, and reliability standards.
• Partner with PMs, BI engineers, and software engineers to scale architecture.
• Represent data engineering in planning, communicate trade-offs to leadership.
• Drive operational excellence, incident response, and continuous improvement.
