Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Data Engineering Manager for the US Planning & Audience Insights team at Prime Video in Seattle. You will lead senior data engineers, own the data platform roadmap, optimize Redshift clusters, and drive pipelines powering analytics, GenAI tools, and business applications.

You will partner with product managers, data scientists, BI engineers, and software engineers to deliver scalable data solutions, govern data quality, and ensure reliable data flows for

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience managing a data or BI team.
• 5+ years of processing data with massively parallel technologies (Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop).
• 3+ years building and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics (ETL/ELT).
• Experience leading data/BI strategy.
• Experience communicating to senior management and customers.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, NodeJS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of senior data engineers, hiring, mentoring, setting technical direction, managing performance and growth opportunities.
• Own the data platform strategy and roadmap for the team’s portfolio, including Redshift clusters, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data models.
• Manage and optimize Redshift infrastructure for performance, cost, availability and scalability.
• Own data pipelines for AI-powered tools powering GenAI and ML applications.
• Drive data engineering for dashboards and internal software products.
• Establish and enforce data governance, quality, and reliability standards with monitoring, SLAs and data quality frameworks.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, BI engineers, and software engineers to translate requirements into scalable architecture.
• Represent data engineering in planning and leadership forums, communicating trade-offs and investment needs to senior leadership.
• Drive operational excellence, on-call processes, incident response and COE follow-ups.
