Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the GDSP Analytics & Insights (A&I) data engineering function. You will own data infrastructure, pipelines, and platform capabilities powering dashboards, AI tools, and Private Pricing applications.

You will manage senior data engineers, shape the data platform roadmap, and partner with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver scalable data solutions globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of processing data with massively parallel technologies (Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark, Hadoop).
• 5+ years of relational database experience (Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL).
• 2+ years building and operating large-scale BI data structures (ETL/ELT).
• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent.
• Experience communicating to senior management and customers.
• Experience leading data/BI strategy.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of senior data engineers; hire, mentor, and set technical direction.
• Own data platform strategy and roadmap for multiple Redshift clusters and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Manage and optimize Redshift infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability across clusters.
• Own data pipelines for AI-powered tools powering GenAI/ML applications.
• Drive data engineering for dashboards and internal software products.
• Establish data governance, quality, monitoring, SLAs, and data quality frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, BI engineers, and software engineers to translate requirements into scalable architecture.
• Represent data engineering in planning and leadership forums; communicate trade-offs to senior leadership.
• Drive on-call processes, incident response, COE follow-ups, and continuous improvement.
