Job summary

Cambridge Investment Research invites a Data Engineering Intern to join the Business Intelligence and Insights team in Phoenix. You'll help build and maintain enterprise data solutions, develop cloud data pipelines, integrations, and data quality frameworks for trusted, AI-ready data and analytics.

The program includes mentorship, an 11-week paid summer internship (May 17 - July 30), on-site work at our Phoenix, AZ office, and a compensation package of $17-$26 per hour plus paid holidays and

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with or coursework in Python, SQL, cloud technology, or data engineering concepts.
• Interest in developing data pipelines, APIs, ETL/ELT workflows, and cloud-based data solutions.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in an enterprise data environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test data pipelines that ingest, transform, and curate data within Cambridge's cloud data platform.
• Build and maintain API integrations and ETL/ELT workflows with guidance from data architects and engineers.
• Support data quality and data governance processes that improve the reliability and accessibility of enterprise data.
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Document data solutions and contribute to enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Use technologies such as SQL, Python, Snowflake, Azure, Event Hubs, Kafka, dbt, Git, Azure DevOps, Confluence, CI/CD, and database change management tools.
