Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a senior systems engineer to outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions for the DCI team. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and a strong background in data workflows.

You will work with data ontologies, structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON), and database technologies (MySQL/NoSQL), drive secure, compliant data flows, and collaborate with agile teams in a fast-paced government environment.

Qualifications

• 14 years experience as a system engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• 5 additional years of experience as a system engineer may be substituted for a degree
• Experience leading agile development models
• Experience developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems

Responsibilities

• Outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions for the DCI team
• Work with data ontologies, structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON) and database technologies (MySQL/NoSQL); perform analytic queries on a platform
• Identify, map and model data transformation routines for multiple concurrent IC-provided data sets, support ingestion into corporate repositories, and document data flows for routing implementations
• Possess working knowledge of smart data systems, entitlements, JAVA and Splunk (highly desired)

Job Description

• The DCI team is seeking Systems Engineer to outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions.
• The candidate should have a working knowledge of NiFi, be comfortable working in a Linux environment, interact with data ontologies (schemas), structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON), have database experience (MySQL/NoSQL) and analytic query experience with a platform.
• Candidate will work with numerous concurrent IC-provided data sets to identify, map and model data transformation routines supporting ingestion into the customer's corporate repositories and be able to document new and existing data flows supporting data routing implementations.
• A working knowledge of smart data systems and entitlements is highly desired, as well as experience with JAVA and Splunk.

Salary: $220,000 - $230,000 annually
