Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a software engineer with active TS/SCI clearance to lead deployment and troubleshooting of Hadoop, Accumulo, and related systems. The role includes managing deployment tasks and solving complex data-processing problems in a dynamic environment.

The position offers telework up to 16 hours weekly after onboarding, with full-time employment and a comprehensive benefits package. Strong knowledge of Java, Map/Reduce, and data pipelines is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.
• 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Set up, deploy, and troubleshoot Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Accumulo and Zookeeper.
• Troubleshoot issues such as offlining an HDFS node or Accumulo components.

Job Description

• Experience setting up, deploying, and troubleshooting Hadoop, Map / Reduce, Accumulo and Zookeeper – this also extends to current sustainment tasking.
• Tasking would also include troubleshooting and fixing issues – for example off lining an HDFS node because of a bad disk. Off lining an Accumulo server processes because of bad memory...

Required Experience

• Familiar with Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with and able to develop and run ansible playbooks.
• Primary development language would be Java.
• Experience writing Map / Reduce applications.
• Experience writing Accumulo iterators and using scanners and Accumulo ingest (streaming and bulk imports)
• Familiarity with the Data Warehouse and their processing pipelines.
