Job summary

Dow Jones Energy team is seeking a data engineer to support a Snowflake/dbt/Airflow powered data platform. You will own small-to-medium features end-to-end, from design through deployment and operational support.

You will build ELT pipelines, write SQL and Python, design scalable data models, and participate in CI/CD and data quality efforts while collaborating with analytics, product, and other engineering teams. You will report to the Director - Data Architecture & Platform Engineering.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ relevant experience in data engineering, software engineering, or database development
• Excitement about AI landscape and its impact on data engineering
• Strong SQL in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) or BigQuery/Redshift

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ELT pipelines in dbt and Snowflake, orchestrated with Airflow
• Write tested SQL and Python for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery
• Design data models that integrate multiple sources and hold up under downstream use
• Contribute to CI/CD, testing frameworks, observability, and data-quality checks
• Monitor pipeline health, investigate issues, propose fixes, and escalate as needed
• Take part in code reviews, technical design, on-call rotation, and production support
• Translate requirements from analysts, product managers, and stakeholders into working data solutions
