Job summary

Rhombus Power, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines and data infrastructure for mission-driven projects in the national security sector.

You will work cross-functionally to develop, test, and deploy scalable data solutions that feed dashboards and ML workflows. You’ll travel to client sites and collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and developers to ensure robust data governance, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, CS, CE, Information Systems/Sciences, or equivalent with 1+ year of experience OR Master’s with strong project experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Pandas, and Numpy; familiarity with at least one other language (Shell, PERL, Java, C/C++/C#, Scala).
• Experience with relational, NoSQL, or file-based storage (MySQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL data pipelines and SDLC activities (testing, documentation, delivery).
• Working knowledge of AWS/cloud technologies and data modeling techniques; familiarity with ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop code to automate data ingestion and improve data management.
• Architect data repositories, stand up data platforms, and build data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and aggregation.
• Review data architecture and improve governance, quality, and metadata management.
• Extract and analyze raw data from multiple sources via APIs, SQL procedures, or Python scripts.
• Develop scripts to convert data into usable formats and support scaling and monitoring of data platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and developers in an agile environment.
• Communicate project status and results to leadership.
