Job summary

The Vanguard Group in Malvern, PA, seeks a data engineer for the Data & Analytics Engineering team to drive scalable, personalized financial advice using data infrastructure, ML, and engineering excellence.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Analysts to deliver high-quality data solutions supporting AWMT strategy, with a focus on real-time and offline analytics and data product development.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with ETL processes, designing database systems, and real-time/offline analytic processing.
• Proficiency in data transformation using Python, PySpark, SQL and AWS, with experience delivering data products for analytics and dashboards.
• Consultative mindset and ability to partner with business stakeholders.
• Proactive support engineer in resolving production issues, ensuring data and pipeline reliability.
• Minimum of five years data analytics, programming, database administration, or data management experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Writes ETL processes, designs database systems, and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
• Troubleshoots software and processes for data consistency and integrity across sources.
• Translates business specifications into design specifications and code; writes complex programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
• Partners with internal clients to understand business functions and informational needs.
• Leads all phases of solution development and explains technical considerations in meetings.
• Tests code thoroughly for accuracy and provides data analysis guidance.
• Designs and conducts training sessions on tools and data sources used by the team and self-provisioners.
• Tests and implements new software releases through regression testing and engages with vendors to productionize.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
