Job summary

Summit Utilities is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise data pipelines in an enterprise-scale environment. This internship is designed for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who want hands‑on experience building real data solutions in an enterprise‑scale environment.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/IS/Data Analytics/Engineering.
Coursework or internship experience involving databases, data analysis, or software development.
Familiarity with Python; exposure to Git is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist senior engineers with building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines that ingest, transform, and stage data.
Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries and views.
Help implement data quality checks, logging, and documentation.
Participate in standups, sprint planning, code reviews, and shadow support ticket and on-call response.
Complete an assigned project or deliverable and present the results to the data and analytics team.
