MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. The Healthcare Data Engineer III serves as a primary technical architect and strategic partner to the Director of Operational Performance. In this role, you will function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data architecture, bridging the gap between complex backend systems and actionable business intelligence. This is a dynamic, high-impact position designed for a problem-solver who is eager to move beyond simple reporting and into predictive analytics and statistical modeling. You will navigate the full data lifecycle from engineering robust data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric to designing executive-level dashboards that drive decision-making across the enterprise.
Under general supervision, this individual performs advanced data engineering, analytics, and reporting functions. The Healthcare Data Engineer is responsible for the integrity, accessibility, and usability of data within the MCP network. Reporting to the Director of Operational Performance, you will collaborate with leadership to transform raw data into meaningful insights. You will be responsible for understanding where data lives, the native capabilities of source systems (such as Epic), and how to leverage external tools to build scalable solutions. This role requires high adaptability, as you will pivot between foundational data engineering, ad-hoc financial analysis, and sophisticated modeling projects depending on business needs.
Must be able to work and collaborate effectively with teams across the MUSC Health System.
Bachelor's Degree Required with 8-10 years' experience in healthcare analytics or analytics in healthcare adjacent industry.
If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
