Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Engineer II to join the OpsTech team in Austin, TX. You will build scalable data platforms powering analytics, ML, and AI across Amazon's fulfillment and maintenance networks.

You will design high-performance data pipelines, create trusted data products, and collaborate with scientists, BI engineers, architects, and operations teams to drive measurable business impact at global scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL/ELT.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and ETL pipelines.
• Experience with Python in data engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data pipelines and platforms transforming operational data into trusted AI-ready data products.
• Power AI agents, ML systems, and intelligent automation with reliable data and semantic layers.
• Develop batch and streaming architectures delivering timely operational signals for analytics and decision making.
• Create reusable datasets and data products supporting analytics, production models, and applications.
• Build feature pipelines and production workflows linking data engineering with ML/AI.
• Improve platform reliability via automated data quality, observability, and lineage.
• Design semantic models and metrics for consistent business understanding by operators and AI systems.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, BI Engineers, Solution Architects, PMs and ops teams.
• Raise engineering standards for scalability, maintainability, governance across OpsTech.
• Explore emerging data/AI tech and shape next-gen data platforms.
