Job summary

Moda Health is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines supporting the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The role focuses on on-prem data environments while contributing to cloud modernization and the adoption of dbt and Snowflake.

The position is a full-time, remote-work role with competitive pay and benefits, including health, retirement, and PTO. Strong SQL, data warehousing, and data modeling skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1 - 5 years of experience working with large datasets in relational databases and SQL-based data analytic platforms.
• Experience with SQL Server and modern SQL-based cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) preferred.
• Hands‑on SQL development experience including complex queries, stored procedures, and tuning.
• Experience developing and supporting data pipelines using SSIS, SQL Agent, Azure Data Factory, and/or Airflow; dbt experience preferred.
• Familiarity with on-premises and cloud data warehouse migrations and data modeling.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven problem solving under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines into the EDW.
• Automate and enhance data pipelines for reliability, performance, and cloud modernization.
• Contribute to cloud migrations to Snowflake or similar technologies.
• Develop data quality checks and monitoring for data accuracy.
• Support data infrastructure needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Assist Data Science with data solutions and analytics use cases.
