Job summary

Exelon is seeking a data engineer to design, build, test, and maintain IT data solutions within a hybrid in-office/remote role. You will work under guidance to deliver data warehouse, BI, and ETL/ELT processes, collaborating with IT teams and external partners.

The role emphasizes documentation, data naming standards, and data protection planning, with a mix of data engineering and analytics duties across Exelon Utility Analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and 2-4 years' relevant experience in data warehouse design, business intelligence reporting and ETL/TLT processing or 3-6 equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, such as systems specifications, product descriptions, operational procedures, etc.
• Some experience or exposure to the various commands and components of a variety of tools. Understands basic concepts, symbols, and conventions.
• Understands how tasks are integrated to produce final deliverables and able to recognize 'textbook' problems and resolve them with assistance.
• Experience implementing a data naming standard for a business area or department, recommended appropriate levels of data access for different user groups and suggested appropriate backup and recovery strategies for various categories of data.

Responsibilities

• Create documentation for products and services and monitor adherence to defined standards.
• Build relationships and expand technical and business knowledge within own discipline.
