Job summary

Travelers Data Engineering team builds pipelines that contextualize and provide easy access to data across the enterprise. You will design, build, and deploy data solutions to support AI, ML, and BI initiatives, translating data stories into actionable insights.

The role demands strong analytical thinking, collaboration across teams, and a track record in ETL with Python/PySpark, plus experience with cloud services. Hartford area position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field or equivalent.
6+ years of related experience.
3+ years in a data engineer role; 7+ years in IT/engineering.
2+ years hands-on ETL with Python or PySpark.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Experience developing generative AI applications and LLMs.
Strong data management, governance, security, and quality skills.

Responsibilities

Build and operationalize complex data solutions; perform data cleansing/quality improvements.
Design data solutions and analyze data sources for value.
Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products.
Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
Perform data and system analysis for defects and incidents of moderate complexity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
