Job summary

Prolaio is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team in the Chicagoland area with flexibility for remote locations. You will enhance our data platform by building scalable data lakes, developing pipelines, and collaborating with data scientists and product teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of data engineering or ML engineering experience, strong cloud proficiency (GCP/AWS/Azure), and expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, ML Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong cloud proficiency with GCP or AWS/Azure.
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing tools like BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalents.
• Experience with Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect for orchestration.
• Programming in Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation.
• Experience implementing and managing data lakes and data pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and operate data lakes on cloud platforms for scalability and performance.
• Automate data workflows using Python and other scripting languages.
• Build and optimize data pipelines with Dagster, dbt, and related tools.
• Ensure security and compliance within a regulated SDLC, protecting PII/PHI.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product teams, and engineers to align data solutions with business needs.
• Tackle complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
