Job summary

The Hershey Company is looking for a Staff Data Engineer, Data Products, to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade data products powering analytics and AI. You will work with Data Product Managers, Architects, and platform teams to deliver scalable, governed data solutions in cloud-native environments.

You will develop scalable data pipelines, models, and governance controls, enabling enterprise-wide decision-making and trusted analytics across Hershey's business domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field.
• Experience with Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or C/C++.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and optimize physical and semantic data models for analytics.
• Implement ingestion frameworks and reusable data workflows.
• Apply performance, scalability, cost optimization, security, and reliability practices.
• Support Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and cloud-native services.
• Embed governance-by-design with data lineage, metadata, and monitoring.
• Implement automated data quality checks and controls.
• Collaborate with domain teams and platform engineering for successful delivery.
