Job summary

OneAmerica Financial is seeking a data engineer to design, build, and maintain a modern cloud data platform focused on trusted data delivery. You will work with Snowflake, dbt, and Medallion Architecture to create scalable, cost-efficient pipelines and data products across multiple source systems.

The role requires strong SQL and Python skills, experience with ELT/ETL pipelines, and collaboration with analytics, product, and business teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering or related experience
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platform
• Strong SQL skills including joins, window functions, and data transformations
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, scripting or automation
• Experience building or supporting production ELT/ETL pipelines
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation framework
• Understanding of dimensional modeling and modern data architecture
• Experience integrating data from multiple source systems
• Familiarity with Git, code review, and CI/CD practices
• Strong analytical and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines in Snowflake
• Develop ELT workflows using dbt and modern tooling
• Implement Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns within Medallion Architecture
• Integrate and transform data from operational systems and third-party platforms
• Write reusable SQL and Python for data transformations
• Monitor pipelines and resolve data quality issues
• Support Snowflake performance and cost optimization
• Collaborate with analytics, product and business teams to deliver trusted datasets
• Contribute to data modeling, governance and engineering standards
• Participate in code reviews and release activities
