Job summary

Spalding, a Saalex Company, seeks a Data Engineer/ETL Developer in Lexington Park, MD. The role involves designing and optimizing data pipelines, ETL mappings, and data architectures within the DON Jupiter and AWS Gov Cloud environments.

You will build and maintain scalable pipelines using Informatica and Databricks, write advanced SQL and Python scripts, and deploy secure APIs to connect diverse data sources. Onsite work ~1 day/week may be required for meetings and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience applying modern data engineering methodologies and cloud-based architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Informatica and Databricks for enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS storage, compute, and analytics services and migrations to AWS.
• Mastery of SQL is required.
• Strong data analysis skills and Excel for data manipulation.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON data structures, and secure data exchange.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL mappings, and data architectures in AWS Gov Cloud and DON Jupiter environment.
• Build and maintain scalable data workflows using Informatica and Databricks.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL and Python scripts for schema creation, data population, and migrations.
• Architect and deploy APIs to connect data sources and ingest data securely.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in cloud data warehouse and ETL frameworks.
• Conduct data collection, pattern analysis, validation testing, and data quality troubleshooting.
