Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, build, test, and maintain data infrastructure for mission partners. You will design scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and optimize schemas while collaborating with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, 3 years of data engineering experience, and an active Top Secret clearance. Strong SQL and AWS Glue experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field (CS/IT/related).
• 3 years of professional data engineering or backend software experience.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Strong SQL and data query proficiency.
• Hands-on AWS services experience with Glue, Glue Catalog and Step Functions.
• Experience with data modeling, data migration and ETL functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using cloud tech (AWS).
• Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
• Optimize database schemas and data collection/validation pipelines.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets.
