Job summary

SMX is hiring a Data Engineer to architect, build, test, and maintain data infrastructure for mission partners. You will model data, implement robust ELT/ETL pipelines, and perform SQL work to transform raw information into high-quality data assets.

The role requires 3+ years in data engineering or backend software, strong SQL skills, and hands-on AWS Glue/Glue Catalog/Step Functions experience, plus an active Top Secret clearance. Collaboration with analytics and business teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years of professional data engineering/backend software experience.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Strong SQL and data query skills.
• Hands-on AWS experience with Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.
• Experience with data modeling, data migration and ETL workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Develop infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple sources using AWS tools.
• Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
