Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, build, test, and maintain the data infrastructure for our mission partners. You will transform raw information from diverse sources into high-quality, accessible data pipelines and collaborate with analytics and business teams to meet data requirements.

The role emphasizes data modeling, ELT/ETL development, and cloud-based workflows using AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, data engineering or related field.
3 years of professional data engineering or backend software experience.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
Strong proficiency in SQL and data query creation.

Responsibilities

Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and ELT/ETL pipelines.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using cloud tech, with a focus on AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.
Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
Optimize database schemas and data collection/validation processes.
Combine raw information from different sources to meet business and mission needs.
Work with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver production-ready datasets
