Job summary

SMX is hiring a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data systems for collection, storage, access, and analytics at scale. You will transform raw data into robust, accessible pipelines and collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 8+ years of experience, strong SQL, data modeling and ETL skills, plus an active Secret clearance. You will ensure data is secure, available, and meets SLAs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Data Engineering or related field.
8+ years of data engineering or backend software experience.
Active Secret security clearance.
Strong SQL and data query skills.
Experience with data modeling, migration and ETL.
Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

Create data pipelines that convert raw data into formats usable by data scientists, data-centric applications, and other data consumers.
Make data available, accessible, and secure to stakeholders.
Ensure data pipelines meet Service Level Agreements and performance standards.
Monitor data repositories and data pipelines to ensure operational efficiency and address problems.
Implement orchestration and automation solution for data pipelines.
