Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is hiring a Data Engineer to join our Internal IT Services team. You will architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes, collaborating with architects and data scientists to enable reporting and AI tooling.

You will build complex data models and ensure data quality across business domains. You will work on end‑to‑end DW projects, tune SQL, and leverage Snowflake, Oracle Data Integrator, Tableau/Power BI, and CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
  • 3+ years analytics, SQL, and/or ETL development.
  • Strong SQL skills with PL/SQL development experience.

What will you be doing?

As a Data Engineer, you'll collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team of solution architects and data scientists to solve a wide range of business problems. You'll be an integral part of the IT Services and Consulting Analytics team, responsible for sourcing and transforming Services related data to support Services and Consulting Analytics reporting and AI tools.

In this role, you'll primarily architect, develop, and maintain our data pipelines and ETL processes, build integrations, and develop complex data models that foster data‑driven decision‑making across all functional areas.

Data Engineer must be able to:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to execute on all phases of the data delivery lifecycle (Requirements gathering, refinement and solutioning, development, testing, deployment, and support)
  • Apply technical expertise to solve complex business problems
  • Effectively communicate with business stakeholders for successful project execution
  • Mentor team members as necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Support our Analytics partners embedded in the business, providing data to analysts across the company.
  • Be an equal member of a cohesive and selfless team.
  • Take complete ownership of your work with the goal of exceeding customer expectations.
  • Work closely with analysts, developers, and data architects to ensure development meets requirements and delivers optimal
  • Consult on the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions to complicated data issues which enhance traditional star‑schema data structures.
  • Expertise in Data Engineering and implement multiple end‑to‑end DW projects.
  • Support and debug issues in production environment and be part of production support, across several reporting toolsets.
  • Embrace the opportunity to expand your skillset both functionally and technically.
  • Design, create, and implement complex data models (including canonical, conceptual, logical and physical models).
  • Build, scale, and maintain our data infrastructure and data products.
  • Implement physical database models and tune SQL.
  • Use ANSI SQL and/or PL/SQL to perform data analysis.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and “ big data ”
  • Flexibility to work as a member of a matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, SQL, and/or ETL development.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing/business intelligence development/data modeling.
  • 3+ years’ experience building large scale data sources in Oracle or equivalent relationaldatabases
  • Have excellent SQL skills with PL/SQL development experience.
  • Hands‑on development experience using an ETL tool; Oracle Data Integrator preferred.
  • Hands‑on development experience with Snowflake/Snowpipe
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI.
  • Expertise with CI/CD pipeline and integration tools e.g., Jenkins, GIT.
  • Understand an analytics platform, its use‑cases, and best practices.
  • Experience working with different types of data stores (RDMS, Flat Files, Columnar DBs, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, including Data Lake, Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse
  • Experience with Cloud‑based environment, Saas / Raas.
  • Experience with any of the cloud warehousing products g. Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.
  • Experience in designing Data Architecture and pipelines.
  • Proficient in performance tuning and debugging.
  • Experience required to work in a fast‑paced environment with a focus on delivering customer satisfaction.
  • Travel - up to 10% of the time. (domestic and international)
  • Must be authorized to work within the US. We will not be able to sponsor employment for this position.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $91,200 to $114,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.
