Job description

Our client, an industry leader in healthcare administration, has an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer to work on a contract-to-hire. Work will be remote. The Data Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions throughout our application ecosystem. You play a hands-on role in leveraging tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse to implement efficient data orchestration, transformation, processing, and storage solutions.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate : $60 - $65 / hr. w2

Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement data pipelines and analytics solutions, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Utilize Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory for data orchestration, Azure Databricks for data transformation and processing, and Azure Data Lake Storage for efficient data storage and management.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to ingest and integrate data into our Data Warehouse.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and translate data requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements :

  • 3-7 years of experience in a data engineering role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
  • Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, database design principles, and performance optimization techniques.

Education Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certifications.
  • Experience with other Azure services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Blob Storage).
  • Experience implementing data solutions involving EDI files (834, 835, 837) and custom flat files.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7) and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI / CD practices in a cloud environment.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
