Opportunity: Data Engineer

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer. This position can be remote based within the U.S.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible opportunity, with current funding through 6/30/2027.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineer to develop and maintain the data platform supporting our Donor and Company Prospecting Tool. Responsibilities include designing and building data pipelines from SQL databases, third-party APIs, and internal sources. The initial focus will be on creating a scalable infrastructure, with future integrations planned for platforms like Salesforce and Azure.

Compensation

Expected pay range: $100,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience. Geographic differentials may apply. The organization reserves the right to pay above or below the posted range.

Responsibilities

1. Data Platform Development: Architect and implement a scalable data platform; build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
2. Data Integration and Maintenance: Consolidate data from multiple sources; prepare for future platform integrations.
3. Collaboration and Innovation: Work with cross-functional teams; leverage best practices in data management.
4. Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring, logging, and optimize data processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Five years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with third-party APIs and data integration.
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools; ability to collaborate remotely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sales automation, lead generation, or lead qualification.
• Knowledge of building APIs for ML/AI features.
• Exposure to cloud environments and data warehousing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach.
